Amelia Earhart Park is 515 acres of lakes, trails, and picnic lawns in Hialeah — one of the biggest parks in Miami-Dade and a favorite for birthday parties in the north of the county. Most people searching for it want the same two answers: how much does a shelter or pavilion cost, and how do I reserve one?
This guide answers both with the county's own numbers for 2026, then covers what most guides skip: what the park allows for bounce houses, why your inflatable needs a quiet generator, and what the full party actually costs when the rentals are included.
Amelia Earhart Park at a Glance
- Address: 401 E 65th St, Hialeah, FL 33013
- Operated by: Miami-Dade County Parks (not the City of Hialeah)
- Reservations: ParkLink at miamidadeparks.com, or call 305-755-7800
- Park office: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Parking: free Monday through Thursday; $8 per car Friday through Sunday and holidays
- Shelter hours: 10 a.m. until 30 minutes before sunset
That parking fee is per car, not per party. If your birthday is on a Saturday, put it in the invitation so nobody gets surprised at the gate.
Shelter and Pavilion Rental Prices for 2026
Miami-Dade doesn't post a price list for each shelter at Amelia Earhart. What the county does publish is its official fee schedule (effective October 1, 2026), which sets pavilion rental fees by size:
- Small pavilion (under 400 sq ft): $58 to $275
- Medium pavilion (400–900 sq ft): $84 to $360
- Large pavilion (over 900 sq ft): $84 to $400
The exact price for your shelter and date shows up in ParkLink when you book. Budget for two more items: a $150 clean-up deposit, refunded when the shelter is left clean, and the weekend parking fee for your guests.
Shelters at Amelia Earhart range from smaller pavilions for about 24 guests to shelters for around 80, plus an extra-large barn-style shelter for 200+ with restrooms nearby. Some shelters have electricity and some don't; for a bounce house it doesn't matter (more on that below).
How to Reserve a Shelter at Amelia Earhart Park
- Pick your date and shelter in ParkLink (miamidadeparks.com) or call Miami-Dade Parks at 305-755-7800.
- Book early. The county asks for at least one week ahead and lets you book up to a year out. Weekend shelters in birthday season go first.
- Mind the cancellation rule. Cancel 14+ days ahead and you pay a $26 service fee; cancel later and the rental fee is forfeited.
- Mention the bounce house when you book. Ask if your shelter area has any restrictions, and ask about water equipment on the same call (see the rules below).

Bounce House Rules at Amelia Earhart Park
Bounce houses are welcome at Miami-Dade parks as long as you follow the county's rules:
- Registered vendors only. Inflatables, tables, tents, and catering must come from a company on the Miami-Dade Parks Registered Party Vendor list. House Of Party Rentals is on that list, same as for our Tropical Park and A.D. Barnes parties.
- The inflatable runs on a quiet generator, always. In Miami-Dade parks the bounce house never plugs into the shelter's power, even if the shelter has outlets, and the county requires vendors to bring silent generators. Ours is a quieter inverter generator ($75): it hums instead of roaring, arrives fueled for 6 hours, and has power left over for a snow cone machine and a speaker.
- Plan on dry inflatables. Miami-Dade parks generally don't allow water equipment, so book a dry combo and confirm with the park when you reserve.
- Tents: a canopy 10 x 12 ft or larger needs a Short Term Event permit from the county. Ask when you book.
- No glass, no foam, no propane. Glass bottles and Styrofoam coolers, cups, and plates aren't allowed, and beer is the only alcohol permitted.
- Decorate without staples. Staples, tacks, and nails can't go on any part of the shelter. Use tape or ties.
One thing that saves the party: send us your shelter number. The park is 515 acres, and the number is how our truck finds you and has everything inflated before your guests arrive.
What the Kids Do Beyond the Bounce House
This is why families drive to Amelia Earhart from all over the county. Inside the park there's Tom Sawyer's Play Island, a fully accessible playground for ages 2–12, and the Bill Graham Farm Village, a replica of an old South Florida farm. Check the farm's hours before you promise it to the kids. Add five lakes, 5.5 miles of mountain bike trails, a fenced Bark Park, and the Miami Watersports Complex for the teenagers, and nobody gets bored.
